dc.description	The Earth Sun was founded in 1947. The newspaper operated as the sole newspaper in Earth until 1954 when the Earth News was founded. The newspapers were in competition for two years, but the two newspapers merged in October 1956 to form the Earth News-Sun. The newspaper contained news from the communities of Earth and Springlake, both of which are in Lamb County, Texas.
